I've been very, very lucky to come across a Sinclair front rest that was made with a John Loh upper.
Sinclair offered these in 2009.
Soon after, they changed the design to it's modern rendition.
John has since passed, so there are no more being made.
I've taken mine completely apart for cleaning and re-lube, build quality is on another level.

I cleaned the grease off all the threads, wiped clean, and put a few drops of synthetic motor oil on each thread, and the post guide pins before re-assembling.

That is a fine looking thing. Few things are more satisfying to me than putting a finely made device back into service.
