That was a bull, but I have seen that often with pregnant animals (didn't realise it at the time :( ) They often stand where they are shot, and take a lot more lead than normal animals before dropping. It's those pregnancy hormones that seem to give a female super powers ;D

I have seen same thing with kudu cows shot with unbeknown calf's at side, they fight a lot harder.
One of those things that weigh heavily on my mind.....................



This is one of the reasons I prefer not shooting female animals. Looking at the impacts that I could see,  the shots were all quite high. Basically just plain lung shots.


Correct, and if the animal doesn't know where the threat is, it doesn't just flee.
