That was 2 weeks ago and I'm still suffering the after effects in my neck and back.

Given the discipline (and good health) to maintain fitness and strength one can go on for a good while. When i did Krav Maga seriously my trainer was well into his sixties and was as tough and durable as a boot. My dad is in his mid seventies and still runs most days and was up a 5m ladder working on his solar geyser when I got to his place last.

My whole body hurts, and it is not a nice after gym kinda hurt.

Saturday 08/02/2025
Two 4 hour walks, 31 cel at 06;00 and 39 by 09:10 and topping out at 41 by about 10.30. I doubt those are accurate temperatures, they from a R200 car after market gauge, but the weather predicted 38 by 10:30 in town which is usually 3 - 4 C less than in the mountains.

The thought of how much longer will I be able to do this is now a constant companion. I am 57 years old now, I walk every hunter that pays to hunt with me till he calls it quits ;D , "yo ! No man, thats enough now, lets sit here till dark ;D ".
Cody and myself according to the Samsung fancy watch thing, generally do a 11 km and a 16 km walk in summer, in winter we do a lot more.

I wonder where the point is where I start sitting out more than partaking, already when its cooler and I sleep - time out from 11:00 to 13:00 abouts, Cody often goes on a middle little walk-about to some smaller hunt area with out me.

Old Mr Henderson would say "old age does not come alone"
The old world war 2 veteran at the pub said to me " Old age is not for sissies my boy"
I always said 'f***ck old age" - never though I would get there, was not a concern of mine that.

I never really considered having to face this - Quote - The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak . Today often used as a rueful admission of weariness or other physical weakness, this idiom was first recorded in the New Testament (Matthew 26:41)

Well its 21:40 now, we have deboned 1 hog and one Impala, 2 to go.
I am sooooo so so grateful for my cooler room, close up and tomorrow is another day.
