No, not tired of life by far, just asking, when is it a case of reward does not overwhelm effort. When does one think - 3 day hunt, zero human comforts, lets pack so its not a hardship and so that we NEVER NEVER EVER say "oh I wish I had brought"
Thats quite a extensive list, if I go away more than one night, second night I want coffee, and soap + washing water, which alone means + a cup, spoon, milk, kettle, and optional gas bottle. Washing means +20 lts water, face cloth, drip dry is fine + soap and change of cloths. A decent chair is a MUST now if I am to enjoy the fire and next day- remember I have injured broken - right side, chopped foot off, knee joint, femur, knee cap, lower back. hip, bullet through leg and left leg lower down, my wrist, hand and some others. I hurt a lot, most of the time, so sitting a few hours on the ground if there is options ????
So what I am saying is, there is a lot of packing, and then after walking 16 - 30 km every day for 3 days and then getting home to processing 2- 6 animals and unpacking, packing away, cleaning rifles and equipment, skinning, hanging, ending 23:00 and starting a work day next day.
Sometimes - A LOT MORE OFTEN NOW, I look at the prospect of doing all that and its daunting, very much open to, lets just stay home sleep late, drink beer, perhaps have lunch at a on the beach place.

I was wondering when, at what stage does one one day decide to actually just stay home, and then again and again.
Another thought for us men, when is that day, that day the last time you able to have sex, do you realize that was the last time ? Do you recall that was my last pomp ?
Same thing with hunting, fishing, when, what makes the last time.

Problem is though, I at 57, no longer enjoy direct sun that much, it just drains me.

So its doldrum time again, March, April and into May, the do just about no out and about stuff, and its just as well, because its usually rather lean money days.
Thing about this do nothing time, its so easy to enjoy it, the just do nothing - that scares me, scares me a lot.
We going to the river and fishing, boating etc early morning start, late nite packing, prepping. When we get back its half a day unpacking and cleaning, aargggg !!!! I just do not feel like it, all that work, I could have slept late and did nothing, so relaxing.

I think this is a time of the year that some older folk, finally just do not start up again, the time that defines that last January was the last time they did something.
I have just realised, everything has a last time, a time when a man just does not - just does not take his rod out again, or his boat, that time that becomes the last time.
Scary thought.
