Does anyone know whether this has been estimated or calculated?
According to Wikipedia 100 million AK 47's and 17 million Lee-Enfields have been built.
The true number must be staggering!?

my first thought when reading your question was, how many tree's went into stocks ?
The next was, "how much lead in tons is spread out over the planet ?
Wow !, come to think of it, man has put a lot of time, effort, resources in making guns, a lot!

Just calculate what we shoot out during a lifetime.
Then add that folks used to shoot out a barrel during a war.
I comfort my poor soul that there a safe queens as well 😉
