Really the most pleasing of all rifles the lil .22. I have always been baffled by making them more accurate. I had a Remington 512 Sports Master that would shoot one hole if the barrel was rattle loose in the stock. Tighten those lugs just a bit, and it shot everywhere.
I ended up using lug bolts that bottomed out before hitting the wood so as to be able to tighten the bolts but still have a loose barrel and action.
Had a pump action that liked to be held real tight, forcing the pump back or forwards (cant recall which) for best grouping.
They funeee lil things .22 guns.

Therefore I am me.

Go to a top tier .22 rimfire competition
Wait until you see a tricked out .. COMPETITION .22 rifle
Costs more than most top end centre fires
.22 Rimfire competition very popular now - due to costs
Cheaper ammo NO reloading .. 🙂

My Krico .22LR has consistently given light strikes that do not set off the priming compound - this was especially true with Swartklip ammo. A remedy was to stretch the spring. I am now going to try and slick up the action. Any oil is not the answer as that becomes sticky over time and retards the firing pin. Metal on metal works well if both faces are very smooth.

An unexpected benefit of the restoration of a Brno Mod 2 that I did was that the polishing of the bolt components eliminated the occasional misfires that it suffered from before. It's amazing how much energy gets freed up when metal to metal contact areas are flat and as smooth as possible.

Go to a Lock Smith buy some dry lube - try for the mix, not just the graphite type or buy some powder you use to recharge your neck size dry lube beads.  Polish up the bolt and apply it (Polish the bolt on a mechanical wheel using the dry lube as a polish agent  after all other steps).
