IMR4831 .. NOT H4831SC
This powder looks like it will give the best results in my 300WM
Seems to be scarce though - everyone out of stock
Powder of choice in the 20mm - all supplies gone to the military ?

Here are a few choices that might be easier to source.
Cartridge : .300 Win. Mag.(@)
Bullet : .308, 165, Hornady BTSP 3045
Useable Case Capaci: 83.396 grain H2O = 5.415 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 3.340 inch = 84.84 mm
Barrel Length : 24.0 inch = 609.6 mm
Predicted Data for Indicated Charges of the Following Powders.
Matching Maximum Pressure: 57000 psi, or 393 MPa
or a maximum loading ratio or filling of 100 %

Nowhere did I say it was not relevant
Not your problem we are so constrained in terms of choice
It is however academic having so many powders listed which we are likely to never see
I do however think that a 165gr projectile for a 300WM is a bit ... light

As you have QL you can use your components and create such a table. I placed the above to include IMR 4831 and everything above that. I am not going to edit the results but all the propellants that QL has in its database are listed in the app. Just pick those available.

Where to find that one ?
Appears everyone also out of stock of that choice
Because the rifle I have was - in a previous life re-chambered it has a very long "throat"
This changes all the dynamics as the bullets are seated much further out of the case giving more internal capacity
RL23 is one of the few powders ( in MY application ) where one can obtain nearly 100% fill ratio and still be within pressure limits .. without using too much powder
I do not think that there is any burning rate equivalent that will do this ?

Alliant Reloading
Reloder(R) 23 is awesome! It was our second product in the TS family and is proving quite versatile in the faster end of the magnum range. It is probably the most used propellant in our Federal Custom Shop, where we use it in 6.5-284 Norma, 6.5 PRC, 7mm Rem SAUM, 280AI, 7mm Rem Mag and 300 Win Mag. Like all of the TS products, temp stability is outstanding, and you almost have to work at not getting low single digit velocity sd's and great accuracy.
Our only issue with TS 23 and all of our products is getting, packing and shipping enough to catch up with demand. I believe that will happen soon though, as long as eastern Europe stabilizes.
